We are H.E.R.E
to Serve

Our H.E.R.E. Philosophy

Holistic Approach

The interconnection of multiple disciplines is a beneficial practice when serving individuals with developmental disabilities. We value the contributions of consultants, practitioners, families, vendors, and Regional Center staff who have expertise in areas beyond our scope.

Engaging Support Plans

Services should be rooted in Person Centered Thinking. The goal of this program is to increase the quality of our participant’s lives. This is achieved by helping our participants create goals and plan activities that are meaningful to them.

Reasearched Based Strategies

Evidence Based Practices (EBP) will be researched when designing treatment plans to help ensure quality interventions are being utilized to teach skill acquisition and address behavior challenges. These include EBPs found within the model of Applied Behavior Analysis, including but not limited to Discrete Trials Training, Pivotal Response Training, or Picture Exchange Communication.

Effective Approach

Data is useful in recording a participant’s progress in comparison to the initial baseline of the skill acquisition target or behavioral goal being tracked. Measuring intervention effectiveness will help direct the course of intervention to ensure long lasting, positive changes in the life of the participant.

Core Values

Communication

It is our belief that increasing a participant’s communication skills can result in a decrease of maladaptive behaviors and increase in social skills and likelihood of employment.

CAre

Oak and Cedar will provide care and support in ways that are meaningful to our community

Community inclusion

Programing will be provided within the community to further promote Community Inclusion.

Collaboration

We will work with the participant, family, and all members of the ID Team to ensure that supports and goals are person centered and meaningful.
